What we make

What does BHOJ make?

Bespoke dinnerware and cutlery, and nothing else for now. The NEELĀ blue-glazed dinner set for six has 32 pieces and starts from ৳65,000. The ĀBHĀ black and gold-toned cutlery set for six has 24 pieces and starts from ৳35,000. We are based in Dhaka, and each set arrives in a walnut chest with your family’s name on an engraved bronze plaque. We will add cookware only once its construction, heat performance and care have been proven.

How many guests can a set serve?

Each set can be made for 4, 6, 8 or 12 guests, and it is priced for the number you choose; the opening prices are for six. Your written proposal lists every piece.

What are the pieces made of?

They are being confirmed with our production sample. For NEELĀ, that means the clay body, the glaze and the rim finish. For ĀBHĀ, it means the metal, the gold-toned finish and the handle material, which your proposal will state exactly.

Prices and editions

How much does a BHOJ collection cost?

NEELĀ, blue-glazed dinnerware for six in its walnut chest, starts from ৳65,000. ĀBHĀ, 24 pieces of cutlery for six, starts from ৳35,000. Personally composed collections start from ৳1,20,000, and private commissions from ৳3,00,000 plus a design fee. These are opening prices that we are confirming with our first production samples. Your written proposal states the exact price, what it includes, and how delivery and tax are treated.

What does an edition of 100 mean?

Each series is limited to 100 numbered sets, and we make no more than 500 sets in a year, across all series. Sets are made against orders, in batches, not all at once. Engraving your name does not create an extra set, and a replacement piece never creates a new numbered one. We will not show availability counts until we have real records to show; ask us and we will tell you where an edition stands.

Personalization

What can I personalize, and what can’t I?

Included with every Signature Edition: your family name, initials or a date on the bronze plaque, a short dedication, a dedication letter, a lining from the approved options, the plaque layout, and the number of guests. At extra cost: catalogue pieces such as serving platters or a tea service, initials on the chest lid, or a second plaque. Original artwork, a monogram on the pieces, a new glaze or a new shape need a private commission. Every custom request is reviewed by our design team, and we will tell you plainly if something cannot be made well.

How long can my dedication be?

On the main plaque, up to 2 lines of about 30 characters (60 in all), so that it stays legible. A longer message belongs in the dedication letter, which has no such limit. Engraving uses Latin letters, numbers and simple punctuation. The preview on this site is a guide, not a proof: we send an engraving proof for your approval before anything is cut.

Can the engraving be in Bengali?

We are confirming whether it can be. For now the plaque takes Latin letters, numbers and simple punctuation. If you would like Bengali script, tell us in your note and we will confirm whether it can be engraved before anything is cut.

Can I give a set as a gift?

Yes. A set can be made for a wedding, an anniversary, a new home or your parents, with their name, initials or a date engraved on the bronze plaque, a short dedication and a letter in your words. Names and dedications stay private. Allow about 10 to 12 weeks from your approval, and tell us the date at the start. We deliver in Dhaka and, on request, to other cities in Bangladesh; if you live abroad, we can deliver to your family here.

Ordering and payment

How long does it take?

About 10 to 12 weeks from the day you approve your proposal. That window is our current estimate while production begins, and each proposal states the date we can commit to. If you need the collection for a particular day, tell us at the start and we will be honest about whether it is possible.

How do payments work?

Payments are staged. The first is due when you approve your written proposal, and the balance before dispatch, once your collection has passed inspection. Each proposal sets out the percentages. Nothing is paid through this website: we will send payment details, or a secure payment link once that service is in place. Cancellation and refund terms will be published before we take any payment.

Delivery and care

Do you deliver outside Dhaka?

We begin with Dhaka. Other cities in Bangladesh are on request, with the timing and cost confirmed in your proposal. We do not yet deliver outside Bangladesh; if you live abroad and are commissioning for family here, we can deliver to them.

What if something arrives damaged?

Please open the chest soon after delivery and check each piece against the list in your proposal. If anything is damaged, keep the packaging, take photographs and tell your concierge within 48 hours. Our intention is to replace any piece damaged in transit at no cost to you. The full terms are being finalized and will be published before we take any payment.

Can I replace a piece later?

Yes. We can make an identified replacement to match your collection, quoted when you ask. It does not create a new numbered set. How many years we can keep making replacements for each series is something we are still confirming with our makers, and we will state it clearly once we know.

Is it dishwasher, microwave or oven safe?

We do not say so yet. We will state dishwasher, microwave and oven suitability only after the production pieces have been tested. Care guidance for your specific pieces arrives with your collection; until then, please wash by hand and dry straight away.

Private commissions

When do I need a private commission, and is there a design fee?

When you want something that does not exist yet: original artwork, a monogram on the pieces, a new glaze colour, a new shape, or a chest designed for a particular place. Private commissions start from ৳3,00,000. They begin with a paid design phase, currently ৳10,000–25,000 depending on scope, which covers drawings and an agreed number of revisions. Whether the fee is credited against your commission is being confirmed and will be written into your agreement. Signature Editions and composed collections have no design fee.

Privacy

Will my family name or dedication appear anywhere public?

Not by default. Names and dedications are kept private. The page your story card opens is private and hidden from search engines, and we show a commission publicly only with your written permission. On this website, what you type into the configurator stays in your browser until you choose to send it.

About BHOJ

Are the pictures on this site real products?

Not yet. They are concept visualisations of the design direction, and they are labelled as such. Photographs and film of the real production sample will replace them as it is finished, and we will gladly show you the sample on a video call once it is ready.
